Best Bar None Ontario Extends Application Deadline to January 31, 2013

Toronto - December 21, 2012

Best Bar None Ontario is pleased to announce that an extension of the application deadline will be made for the newly launched, industry led program until January 31, 2013.

Due to the busy holiday season for the Toronto Entertainment District, liquor sales licensees have requested additional time to ensure they can complete and send in their applications for Best Bar None Ontario accreditation. In addition to the extended deadline for applications the program will also consider all licensees who have owned their establishments from January 2012 so that additional licensees can apply and participate.

To be eligible for Best Bar None Ontario accreditation, you must have owned your establishment for a minimum of twelve (12) calendar months, now as of January 31, 2012, consistent with the application extension deadline and you must have a clean compliance record with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for the same time frame.

Best Bar None is an industry led, international annual accreditation and awards program recognizing licensed businesses who maintain the highest standards in the sale and service of alcohol and operations. Best Bar None rewards responsible licensees and encourages improvement to operational standards. Excellence is recognized through five awards categories: best club, lounge, restaurant, hotel lounge or pub. There will also be a best overall award. Awards will be handed out in Spring 2013.

Best Bar None started in the U.K., and is being offered for the first time in Canada in Ontario.
